The BMC air filter is washable and we advise you to clean it every 25.000km to maintain the performance
Remove the large dirt by shaking your filter gently. DO NOT use compressed air, which could damage the filtering element.
Sprinkle BMC detergent onto the filter. Leave it to be absorbed for about 10 minutes. DO NOT use caustic products such as petrol or oil. USE ONLY BMC DETERGENT.
Wash your filter in cold water. Rinse well ensuring that the dirt does not enter into the filter plates. DO NOT use highpressure water.
Let your filter dry naturally away from heat sources on absorbent paper or on a clean cloth. DO NOT use a hair dryer or compressed air.
Remove the original top from the oil bottle. Make a small hole in the spout dispenser and screw it on the bottle. For a correct oiling we recommend to pass over 2 lines of oil on every filter pleat and repeat the same operation on the other side.
The oiling procedure using the aerosol spray. Hold the spay 15 cm from the filter and spray the complete surface. Repeat the operation also on the other side of the filter
Let your filter absorb the oil on a level surface for around 30 minutes. Wipe away any excess oil on the rubber and check if the filtering element is homogeneously red. If not, it is necessary to repeat the oiling step following the above instructions. Now your filter is ready to be reinstalled.
