Debut Race of the Motul Suzuki Microsprint Race Car

29th January 2010
Check out the latest results of the Motul Suzuki Microsprint car owned by Murray Goodman and supported by our own Steve "Macca" McCullough from Link International.

Well the highs and lows of speedway were experienced on the weekend 13/02/10
with the Debut of the Mighty Red Rooster Motul Suzuki LGM Microsprint.

8 cars made the journey to Gatton for the Tiny Barber Memorial on what was a glorious
QLD summers day, and with a quick track due to all the rain we have had recently, it
was going to make for a great nights racing.

Heat 1: The first heat saw Murray start from position 7 on an 8 lap journey, and after
feeling the car out for a lap or two quickly started moving forward passing cars with ease
as the power of the BIG 450 kicked in and suddenly found himself in 2nd place, and could
have gained on 1st if not for the fact he had run out of tear offs.

The smile on his face when he rolled in to the pit area was ear to ear but the car had a small
problem with the radiator, it had pulled one of the mounting points out of the tank and caused
the car to be rather hot, after letting the car cool we fixed the tank with a bit sealant which had
solved the problem, but by then had missed the 2nd heat.

Heat 3: So once again from the rear of field and feeling confident after 1st heat, Murray saw the
green flag hit the loud pedal and went straight past 2 cars before the 1st turn, but the car did not
sound right so he put the car straight to the infield. It was when the car came back to the pit area
that we noticed it had broken the exhaust at the header. With a quick fix the only solution for the
next heat, we put a bit of Aussie know how together with a coke can and a couple of clamps and
went again.

Heat 4: So with fingers crossed and wishful thinking, we set off again from rear of field, and once again
on the green Murray blasted past 2 cars again by the 1st turn but unfortunately it was no good the pipe
had gone again and straight to the infield. This time we put it back on the trailer and thought we would
live to fight another day.

All in all it was a great 1st hit out in the car, and we have worked out the simple things to fix, so it will be
down to Skips Performance for those little things and then ready for Grafton on the 27th February.
We would like to thank all sponsors and supporters who are on board this season as the car was noticed
and commented upon the whole night and is a true credit to Murray, the Team and all sponsors.
