RACE REPORT
Rockstar Motul Suzuki’s Daniel McCoy has narrowed the gap on second place to only 20 points after the sixth round of the Australian National Motocross Championship at Coonabarabran’s Goanna Tracks complex.
In what was a challenging weekend, McCoy battled to eighth place overall, with an 11-6-8-9 result. Although not at his best, the result was still enough to close down the points gap on second placed Kirk Gibbs to only 20 points.

In the premier Pro Open class, Rockstar Motul Suzuki’s Cody Cooper also recorded an eighth place overall result with a 9-7-9-9 scorecard. Suzuki’s open class charger struggled with the dry, hard pack terrain but he remains confident coming into the Albury round, having taken the win there in 2010.
“I am disappointed with the results after winning both classes at Toowoomba. But, Daniel is now closer to second place in the points standing, which sets him up for a real Championship challenge at Albury.
“Not Cody’s best weekend, but looking forward his best result in 2010 was at Albury and Moree, and we know he can win at Coolum, so we are confident he will put the RM-Z on the box in the coming rounds.”
