Pro Opens In the Pro Open class Jay Marmont (CDR Yamaha) took an impressive third straight Pro Open championship this year ahead of Billy Mackenzie (Cool Air Kawasaki) with privateer Dean Ferris (Honda) taking third overall on Pirelli Scorpion MX.
The Coolum track delivered a mixed bag in terms of track conditions, with the usually sandy track also throwing up some hard packed sections to the updated layout. Rain on the Friday night and also Saturday night ensured a soft top layer to the track with a hard base to the many ruts that formed over the weekend, making conditions slippery and difficult for the riders.
Most Pirelli riders chose Scorpion MX Mid Soft (32) front and rear, with some also using the new Scorpion MX Mid Soft 32 (MUD) rear to get the best from the conditions tricky conditions. Pro Lites
